  • Build redstone circuits and machines
  • Utilize command blocks to enhance maps
  • Develop planning and design skills

Sample Schedule

Here’s a sample of what a week in the course could look like. Please keep in mind that students will progress at varying paces; this is a general outline of key material and the overall student experience.

Students will explore command blocks and experiment with them with a variety of different machines.

Next, students will use wool blocks to create sounds signals and experiment with other special properties that sensors have. Students start building their obstacle course with sound-based traps.

Students continue building their command block skills and adding complexity to their Minecraft games.

As they continue to build their own Minecraft obstacle course games, students will add depth to their worlds with decorations and other customizations. These might include a starting area and a finish line, along with a rewards room for players who complete the course.

To complete the week, students will refine their map and playtest their peers' obstacle courses. Together, they will discuss their work and provide meaningful feedback for their peers.

The market value of the gaming industry is over $151.06 billion dollars, with steady growth predicted through 2027. Your child could be the next big name in game design, and if their STEM journey leads them elsewhere, they will still build valuable digital literacy skills. Tech literacy is key to success with 21st century skills, and yes those skills can be fun to learn!

Yes, this course is designed for beginner to advanced students. Our small class size ensures that each student receives individual attention and has the freedom to learn at their own pace.
