This course introduces how to use the fundamentals of Python to explore advancing AI technologies with popular tools like OpenAI, ChatGPT, and TensorFlow. You'll learn how to use neural networks and machine learning-based models to perform everyday tasks with artificial intelligence. Get real-world experience with this introduction to computational thinking and advanced computer science concepts!

Sample Schedule

Here’s a sample of what a week in the course could look like! Please keep in mind that students will progress at varying paces; this is a general outline of the key material and overall student experience.

Explore Python fundamentals through an introduction to variables, conditional statements, loops, and functions. Students will code basic projects such as a MadLib story, a Guess the Number game, or a Fortune Teller game.

Building on their knowledge, students will delve deeper into Python programming by exploring popular Python libraries and discovering the basics of machine learning and neural networks while learning image recognition using Tensorflow.

Utilizing their advanced coding and computational thinking skills, students will begin exploring advancing AI technologies with OpenAI such as ChatGPT. Students will start building their final project to begin closing out the course.

Next, students will learn how to fine-tune OpenAI models to optimize learning rates. Students will use these concepts to perform everyday tasks with artificial intelligence and improve their final projects.

To wrap up the week, students will finalize their projects and finish out strong with a solid understanding of Python programming, machine-learning based concepts, and new AI technologies.

Like our on-campus programs, Virtual Tech Camps feature structured small-group sessions led by expert instructors. Each week includes live  teaching of our signature, cutting-edge curriculum, plus peer collaboration, social time, and independent project work. To complete the experience, our Virtual Tech Camps incorporate all the magic of summer camp including games, challenges, and legendary iD traditions!

To run this online course with iD Tech, students will need a Mac, Windows, or Chromebook computer, a webcam, and a stable internet connection with access to Zoom video conferencing. Any course-specific installation requirements will be communicated after registration.
