About Discovery Lessons

Designed to fit seamlessly into busy schedules - from sports practices to band rehearsals - Online Private Lessons offer personalized learning tailored to your child’s interests and skill level at the best possible price. With lessons in coding, math, robotics, 3D printing, and more, this 1-on-1 learning adventure is filled with fantastic fun and big results. In this Discovery Lesson, guided by our elite instructors, you'll get a taste of how kids and teens can accomplish things like building a prototype, honing video production skills, or transforming a love of gaming into the skills it takes to create them.

Lesson Format 

Each 60-minute lesson takes place over Zoom, and is led by an experienced, USA-based instructor. Once scheduled, you can share notes about your child and any specific learning goals they might have. When it’s time for their lesson, your child will connect with their instructor, who will come prepared with curriculum tailored to your child's interests and skill level. When the lesson is complete, you will receive a post-session progress report via email so you can track your child's success! 
 

Lesson Topics

Game development encompasses designing, coding, and testing video or mobile games. The process involves creating visual content and writing the code necessary to bring its features to life. Topics include Minecraft Game Design, Unity with C#, Intro to Game Design (2D) Intro to 3D Game Design, Unreal Engine 4, and more. 

Turn your child's eye for style into specialized skills that are sure to impress colleges, design studios, and companies like Disney and Pixar! Topics include Photoshop, Graphic Design with Adobe Illustrator, Drawing Fundamentals, Animation with Adobe Animate, Adobe Premiere and After Effects, 3D Modeling, 3D Printing, and more. 

Taking learning beyond the classroom gives students the opportunity to focus on specific subject matter, which is one of the main benefits of one-on-one tutoring. But there's more! When you select this topic and purchase a lesson package, you can choose your instructor and schedule a 60-minute lesson for the date and time that works best for you.

Yes, lessons are designed for beginner to advanced students. The 1-on-1 format ensures that students receive personalized attention and have the freedom to learn at their own pace, and according to their own interests and goals. 

To run this online lesson with iD Tech, students will need a Mac or Windows computer (no Chromebooks, unless otherwise specified), a webcam, and a stable internet connection with access to Zoom video conferencing. Additional info on lesson-specific installation requirements will be communicated after registration.

This topic is taught by live iD Tech instructors who are subject matter experts recruited from top universities like Stanford, Caltech, NYU, and Carnegie Mellon. Instructors are trained to engage, connect, and bring out the best in your child.
