iD Tech Academies Held at NYU

iD Tech Academies offer intensive, assignment-driven programming workshops in various course topics including machine learning, virtual reality, game development, robotics, and more. Programs are designed to be a rigorous, pre-college experience that provides industry insights for teens interested in pursuing STEM fields in college or as a career.

Academy programs run in two-week sessions. While they’re fully supervised by our staff, weekend stays are filled with activities designed for fun (rather than our usual instruction). 

Because this is a teen-only program, students are provided as much autonomy as possible to shape their own weeks with what they want to learn and how to spend their free time. Along with the additional freedom academies allow, teens will get to stay in the dorms on campus to get an even better feel for college life (with boys and girls staying in separate areas of the dorms).

Along with an iD Tech diploma, teens leave their academy with a portfolio tailored to their course topic—a valuable addition to resumes and portfolios for college applications, internships, and jobs. 

Our instructors are recruited from top universities, but more importantly, they are elite mentors who understand teens, share their interests, bring first-hand experience, and serve as real-life role models for what the future holds. They are trained extensively in-person (and virtually) to differentiate engaging content to campers’ needs, connect to each teen, and inspire them to pursue their dreams. 

Students spend approximately five hours per day on the computer, taking breaks to engage in recreational activities throughout their sessions. We blend traditional summer camp activities like sports, gaming tournaments, chess tournaments, outdoor activities, and more with cutting-edge technology courses. Beyond STEM skill development, students socialize, make friends, and have fun!

Absolutely, and in more ways than most people realize. The Common App has a couple of distinct places where your teen's academy experience can show up:

• Activities: list the full course title (e.g., "Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with NVIDIA") rather than something generic like "coding camp." Use the detail field to describe the specific project teens built and skills they developed.
• Additional information: a working, finished project/portfolio link that admissions officers can actually see is the kind of thing most applicants simply can't offer.

Many students leave these sections blank. Teens who've completed an iD Tech Academy usually have plenty to say. 

As courses frequently sell out, we recommend registering early to secure your child's spot. You can make unlimited changes with no fees up to 28 days before the start of your session. If you need to cancel before March 1st, you will receive a full refund of the amount paid. If you cancel after March 1st but still 28+ days before your session, you will receive a refund less the additional fees (if applicable) and a $250 cancellation charge per week. Within 28 days of your session start date, changes are subject to a fee, and no refunds are provided for cancellations.

If your teen will be bringing a phone to camp, they’ll be able to access their device to update you on their adventures and take selfies with their new friends during break times.

While many teens can’t stop talking about their days at camp, others are students of few words. Our academy staff are here to help by taking pictures of participants in action! Our photos page is regularly updated to showcase all of the fun taking place at camp.

During our Friday Family Showcase, loved ones get to see their teen's final project while interacting with camp staff and learning about the program, skills gained, and more. 

Yes! You can register today for as little as $460 per student and pay the balance in convenient monthly installments. You can save $50 by registering for multiple sessions, and you can earn $25 in credit when you invite a friend to join camp (your friend saves $25 when they sign up too!).
