About The Chapel Hill Area

If you've ever heard of the Research Triangle, Chapel Hill makes up one of three points, along with Durham and Raleigh. All three cities form what used to be a number of university research centers that attracted many local businesses, and is now home for high technology companies including IBM, Cisco Systems, NetApp, and many others. Chapel Hill on its own has a population of over 57,000, and their motto paints the city to be the "Southern Part of Heaven." The University of North Carolina is located in Chapel Hill. The school is known as one of three public universities claiming to be the oldest in the history of the United States (along with the University of Georgia, and the College of William & Mary). UNC-Chapel Hill is also recognized for its college basketball dominance (six NCAA championships), and is identified by its distinctive Carolina blue school color. UNC is one of iD Tech Camps many locations, with students from Apex, Cary, Durham, Greensboro, and Raleigh attending our Chapel Hill summer computer camps.
