About the Amherst Area

Amherst, Massachusetts is home to three of the "Five Colleges" (a consortium made up of four liberal arts colleges: Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mount Holyoke College, and Smith College, and one university: University of Massachusetts, Amherst). Many people think of the pronunciation of Amherst to be "Am-herst," but in fact, it is properly pronounced as "Am-erst;" the "h" is silent. iD Tech Camps offers summer programs for kids and teens at Amherst College, with many students from Northampton, Longmeadow, Florence, and Carlisle attending our Amherst summer computer camps.

Looking for something fun to do while the kids are at camp? Our Amherst summer programs are minutes from the city's top attractions. Happy exploring!
