About the Atlanta Area

Atlanta played host of the 1996 Summer Olympics, a set of games that saw athletes from 190+ nations participate in a number of events in which the United States took home over 100 medals. Atlanta is sometimes called "The City in a Forest" due to the many different trees that occupy most of the landscape. In terms of business and economy, Atlanta hosts an abundance of Fortune 500 companies; most notably The Coca-Cola Company, UPS, and The Home Depot. The city also offers a number of nationally-recognized colleges and universities, one being Emory University, which ranks as one of the top 20 academic institutions in America. Emory also serves as one of iD Tech Camps' premier university locations, with students traveling from Alpharetta, Decatur, Marietta, and Roswell to attend our Atlanta summer computer camps.
