Florida Summer Camps

At iD Tech, we offer hands-on, high-energy summer computer programs for kids and teens. Co-ed options include iD Tech Camps for ages 7-17, iD Tech Academies for teens ages 13-18, and iD Tech Mini for ages 6-9. We also offer Alexa Café, an all-girls program for ages 10-15. Programs are held at over 100 prestigious campuses nationwide. Unlock your internalDrive and gain a competitive advantage for college and beyond!

Our FL summer camps immerse students in a STEM learning experience unlike any other. Choose from courses in game design, web design, coding, programming in Java™ and C++, Minecraft modding, filmmaking, robotics, photography, and more. With 8 students maximum per instructor, we customize our curriculum around you. You’ll build real-world skills, make new friends, and discover how your talents and passions can lead to a future career. Depending on location and program, students will eat in the university dining hall and explore campus. Overnight campers sleep right in the college dorms!

In Florida, we offer Tampa summer camps held at the University of South Florida, camps in the Miami area at the University of Miami, Orlando summer programs held at Rollins College, and Jacksonville summer camps held at the University of North Florida. Do something BIG this summer! Check FL computer camp availability below.

Florida STEM Snapshot

Florida students—have you heard that by 2018, there will be roughly 411,000 unfilled STEM jobs? Did you know that 22,321 of those jobs involve computing? Florida’s technical industries are booming, yet only 2,511 students graduate with degrees in computer science each year, and only 125 schools statewide teach computer science. However, unlike many states, Florida allows CS to count for math or science credit, meaning students can learn computer science and still have it apply to their graduation requirements.

  • Florida has made positive progress by incorporating computer science into the graduation requirement, but there are still no clear CS teacher certification pathways, and no curriculum standards for the courses. Click here to learn more and promote tech education in Florida.
  • Students in Florida who are looking for a fun, STEM-related outing can explore the MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry) in Tampa. Exhibits have ranged in topic from 3D printing to rocket engineering to Minecraft and much more.
  • STEMFlorida is a statewide council designed to strengthen the science, technology, engineering, and math skills of Florida’s students, in an effort to meet the rapidly expanding STEM job market.
  • Another organization, NEFEC (North East Florida Educational Consortium), operates RISE (Rural Initiative for STEM Education) which focuses on providing STEM education for students and teachers in rural Florida. Their program aims to make more intensive STEM programs available to those who might not otherwise have access.
