About the Fort Collins Area

Fort Collins is known as a college town, thanks to the presence of Colorado State University's flagship campus. The city consistently finds itself named as one of Money Magazine's "Best Places to Live," making the list's top spot in 2006, and then again in the top ten in both 2008 and 2010. Many Fort Collins residents choose the bicycle as their preferred method of transportation, and the city has responded by including bike lanes within all new roads, and even providing a bike library for rentals. Apart from CSU, other large employers who have an impact on the Fort Collins economy include HP, Eastman Kodak, and the Poudre Valley Health system. Many iD Tech Camps students from surrounding Colorado cities like Boulder, Cheyenne, and Colorado Springs attend our Fort Collins summer computer camps.
