About This Course

Whiz! Bang! Boom! Players will run for cover and battle it out laser tag-style in your new game creation. Level design, code, and mechanics all come together in this exciting mash-up. You’ll use C# and Unity to build a fast-paced, first-person arena game, developing advanced elements such as weapon types, enemies, movement mechanics, and upgrades. You will create assets and code to make an experience with high replayability, where survival and strategy are key.

What is replayability? Why does it matter?

Think of this as the “just right” medium between a game that’s too easy and one that’s too hard. Replayability measures how enjoyable a video game is to play multiple times, and factors like obstacles, levels of difficulty, and many more must be considered. When kids and teens learn to incorporate this element effectively, they advance to higher levels of game design.

What are the technical requirements for this online course?

To run an online course with iD Tech, students will need a Mac or Windows computer (no Chromebooks, unless otherwise specified), a webcam, and a stable internet connection with access to Zoom video conferencing. Any course-specific installation requirements will be communicated after registration.
