C++ Programming and Unreal Game Development

Course Description

Kickstart your career as a Gameplay Programmer in this elite Academy experience.

In week one, prepare to build your game by learning the fundamentals of C++ and Blueprints, two essential tools for development with Unreal Engine. Implement game mechanics and build coding skills to become an indispensable asset to your team. Finish the week by diving into game design theory and learning how to create experiences supported by themes.

During week two, get into the full swing of game production by launching an indie studio with your team and working to create your combined vision. Add new coding skills tailored to your project and prep to show off your work, wowing your peers and fans alike.

In this course, your student will:

  • Read in user input and print formatted output
  • Implement a game loop
  • Use Unreal Engine 4's Blueprints to build game mechanics
  • Code with C++
  • Implement source control techniques to effectively work in a team
