Virtual Tech Camps are LIVE! 7 reasons to experience the magic of iD from home this spring break (and summer)

iD Tech in action

That’s right: Virtual Tech Camps are back and better than ever. We are thrilled to announce that today marks the launch of iD Tech’s second season of fully online, immersive STEM camp experiences.

Even though 2021 just started, kids and parents sure could use a break already!

We are as eager as anyone for it to be safe to meet in-person, and it can seem like a long road to get there, but here’s the good news: you don’t have to wait for the spring break fun to start.

And while more traditional spring break family activities might still be out of reach for now, iD Tech is so excited to bring all the magic, fun, and unique aspects of our in-person programs to screens at home this year.

Despite these crazy times, one thing’s for sure: kids will keep innovating. It’s just a matter of supporting them along the way. Their great ideas deserve encouragement, and spaces to explore, and communities of like-minds.

Virtual spring break camps are designed to provide exactly that.

Last year, Virtual Tech Camps reached 45,000 students, and we can’t wait to see what 2021 brings. We’ve spent the past several months applying everything we learned from its inaugural run to bring the best of the best this spring season.

So, it’s time to jump in, get creative, and have a blast with STEM—Here’s what to expect from Virtual Tech Camps this spring break and for summer 2021!

7 reasons to attend Virtual Tech Camps

Virtual Tech Camps turn up the “funometer”

“It was great! I love the work iD Tech puts in to help kids learn more, and the work they do to make the "funometer" the highest level!” -Matthew B., VTC Student

We couldn’t say it better ourselves! Say goodbye to Zoom fatigue and hello to kids having a blast while learning online.

Virtual Tech Camp includes the fun “special sauce” iD Tech is famous for. Think camp traditions like nicknames, shout outs, and theme days, plus group games and scavenger hunts. Our Virtual Tech Camps are full of the legendary iD traditions kids love.

Virtual Tech Camps are backed by a dedicated team of experts

“...The tech support team was fantastic helping us work through getting programs installed on Sunday before camp.  It made a big difference having everything ready to go ahead of the camp.”  -Kristin O., VTC Parent

Our flexible and dedicated support team aren’t robots, they’re the most talented client specialists around.

We know that virtual school can be challenging, but it doesn’t have to be! Our full-time team is here to help make Virtual Tech Camp easy, seamless, and enjoyable for parents and students alike.

iD's curriculum lineup has the hottest topics in tech

“My son is a beginner at computers but is interested in computer animation, and this course really motivated him. His instructor was great at explaining things and got my son even more excited to explore animation. This was just what we needed to keep my son (and us parents) from losing our minds during lock-down homeschooling. Thank you!!”  -Barbara B., VTC Parent

From how to make a Roblox obby and Minecraft world design, to Scratch game design and YouTube animation, our Virtual Tech Camp course catalog has something for every student.

And whether your student is an advanced programmer or completely new to all things techie, our rockstar instructors are ready to inspire their next great idea.

Virtual Tech Camps have a Small Group Guarantee. Always.

“Instructor was very engaging and took time to answer questions. She spent time working with each child and was very patient. Her enthusiasm for the topic was helpful and Michael has been spending time working on his stories/drawing this entire weekend. He is so excited about learning more about this area.”  -Wendy K., VTC Parent

Virtual Tech Camps average just 5 students per instructor, ensuring the perfect mix of individualized instruction and meaningful group collaboration.

At Virtual Tech Camp, kids collaborate, interact, and make new friends

“Last summer when I went to iD Tech, I met one of my now close friends, Violet. Now I’m doing Virtual Tech Camps. Every class I take, I make friends." -Sarah F., VTC Student

Peer interaction is crucial to kids’ development, not to mention their well-being! Virtual Tech Camps are a place for like-minded kids to connect, have fun, and build awesome things together.

Virtual Tech Camps launch passion projects

“iD Tech camps was an educational and fun experience where I could code creatively and learn new things every day. I got so much out of it and I look forward to doing another class. I strongly recommend this camp for curious and risk-taking people looking to have fun!” -Lucia W., VTC Parent

If a student has fun learning something new, that’s the mark of a great lesson. If they’re inspired to learn more, that’s the start of a journey.

Now is the perfect time to revitalize kids’ learning and start new, exciting projects. Through Virtual Tech Camp, they will take home something to be proud of and build upon.

Virtual Tech Camps are led by Certified Tech Rockstars

“Miles was SUPER patient with one family having difficulties and with how many times he had to repeat himself! He was great about sharing the screen and checking in to make sure that everyone was with him during each step of the way. And my son is a bit shy and he made sure he asked each student (including Luke) direct questions. Miles is doing great.”  -Julie B., VTC Parent

Our team of Tech Rockstars are not only top-notch in what they teach; they boost their students’ confidence, inspire a love of STEM, and ensure kids feel comfortable to be themselves in a supportive environment.

In a nutshell, they’re both the tech experts and the fun experts, and we’re proud to call them part of the iD Tech family.

Virginia started with iD Tech at the University of Denver in 2015 and has loved every minute since then! A former teacher by trade, she has a master's in education and loves working to embolden the next generation through STEM. Outside the office, you can usually find her reading a good book, struggling on a yoga mat, or exploring the Rocky Mountains.
