The Top 10 Taglines They Wouldn't Let the CEO of iD Tech Use

iD Tech in action

For those of you who know me, you know my brain is constantly moving at warp speed.  I sacrifice sleep to bring ideas to life.  My team inspires me.

They let me introduce really cool, and really awful ideas.  They are usually nice about it.  Just kidding, that is a lie.  Sometimes I feel like Harvey Levin from TMZ. My team is very direct with me--but it is always fun-spirited.

Let's face it--for every cool idea I bring to the table, I have plenty of non-starters.  Here is my list of top 10 taglines I brought to the team over the past 2 years--but the creatives on my team completely said "no way!"  They did make me a couple custom T-Shirts I could wear with all is good!  (See above photo).

1. ScienTechnology. It's our Religion.

Why they said no:  "Really, do we have to tell you why?  We're telling Tom and John."

2. iD Tech. 100% Pure Tech Kryptonite

Why they said no:  "Kryptonite almost killed Superman."

3. Chickity-check yo self before you Tech yo self

Why they said no: "Seriously?  Ice Cube?"

4. iD. It's a Heart A Tech.

Why they said no to my suggestion for a Valentine's Day promo: "It's just really bad. Enrique Iglesias already has that one locked up anyways."

5. Tech The Halls

Why they said no to my suggestion for a Holiday promo. "You stole that from Radio Shack."

We teach differently.  Lol? :0
Why they said no: "It doesn't really make sense. Not LOL."

OK, but do you want to know a couple that have actually come to life?

7. Tech for Everybuddy

Why they said yes: "Because they said no to pretty much everything else." Oh, and because inclusiveness is a key pillar here at iD.

8. fUNSTOPPABLE. When you have fun, you can’t be stopped.

Why they said yes: "This embodies iD Tech. And it's just true."

“We launched when we were 23 and 25.”
Why they said yes:  "Because you and Alexa WERE real young tech entrepreneurs.  And you are the only two people in history to ever brag about moving back in with Mom and Dad."

10. I didn't come up with a tenth.

If you have any taglines--cool or uncool--please let me know. Share your comments. In the meantime, don't be afraid to share your creativity with others.  People will never like the stuff you never created. Hey, maybe that's a new tagline!

By day he is CEO, by night he is a youth soccer coach and chef of the house. Pete studied at UW in Seattle and worked abroad in Spain. He is fluent in Spanish, but his kids think otherwise. The best part of the job? Seeing the kids advance from tech novices to studying at top Universities and landing big-time jobs.
