The Front Lines: iDX Update

boy assembling project circuit board

At iD Camps across the country, campers are focusing on their instruction, activities, and, of course, iDX. iDX is the cross-camp competition for team dominance. Red won last year, Green the year before. And as of last week, the Green team had taken a commanding lead in the most competitive year we’ve ever seen.

I asked Bryan, my AC partner, to share with me some of the craziest and coolest iDX activities and he did not disappoint! Enjoy!

Build a Mini Marshmallow Castle

iD Trinity received 8 points for the Yellow Team for creating this awesome castle out of toothpicks and mini marshmallows.

Odd Object Band

iD Denver University received 10 points for the Yellow Team for their homemade band.

Write a Letter to a Soldier

A camper named Jeremiah from Ohio State University sent this letter to a soldier, earning the Red Team 7 points.

Dear soldier,

Thank you. Thank you for putting your life on the line to save others. Knowing that there are others putting their lives on the line to save loved ones and even strangers makes me happy. It is nice to know that there are people who can be depended on, people who can be trusted. You are one of these people. I hope that you return safely and can rejoin your friends and family or create new ones. I wish you the best of luck and thank you for defending our country.

Mail a Paper Airplane

iD Vassar received 10 points for the Red Team by sinking this amazing shot.

Finish a Lap Blindfolded

The Blue team got 16 whole points from this single successful challenge that was finished at UNC – Rainbow Road BLINDFOLDED!

Most Consecutive Arm Wrestling Victories

UNC also had this incredible iDX achievement for 8 points – One of the best iD videos from 2012!

Most Paper Airplanes in Hair
