Machine learning and AI, the technology that powers self-driving cars, social media, and so much more, is ready for teens to explore in the latest addition to our course catalog!
We’ve teamed up with NVIDIA, inventor of the graphics processing unit and world leader in computing innovation, to create a rigorous, engaging learning experience unlike any other. Through the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Certification with NVIDIA, students will take a deep dive into Python coding with Jetson Nano™ cutting-edge hardware to enhance hands-on learning across STEM disciplines.
As if that’s not enough great news, we’re also thrilled to announce that the course will include a cohort of 30 female scholarship students sponsored by the NVIDIA Foundation. Plus, for every 10 students who participate, an additional student will be provided with a full scholarship!

Even more so, we know that its unparalleled combination of world-class mentorship, hardware, and industry expertise will empower students to create amazing things and take their tech journeys to new heights.
A launchpad to top colleges and STEM careers
Not only is Python one of the most versatile coding languages out there, it can give programmers a leg up into today’s fastest-growing STEM jobs and top universities. Surprisingly, even though demand for STEM jobs is growing at a higher rate than any other field, the typical K-12 curriculum remains unlikely to sufficiently prepare students.
Today, universities consistently rank STEM majors among those most likely to translate to high-paying careers. And yet, less than half of high schools in the US offer computer science classes.
This course offers a unique opportunity to fill the gaps left by most high schools through high-quality, project-based learning. Not only that, the iD Tech and NVIDIA Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Certification course zeroes in on one of the most vital skills for the next generation of programmers and engineers: Python coding.
Python is so in demand it reigns as the #1 most searched coding language for coding tutorials and the 2nd most high-paid language across STEM industries. This is hardly surprising, as it is widely acknowledged as the best language for testing software and implementing data science analyses.
And since 546,200 coding jobs are projected to be added by 2028, there’s no doubt that it will come in handy! This course is the ideal starting point for exploring virtually endless possibilities.
Unlock the world of machine learning, AI, and beyond
Whether it’s telling the difference between a cat and a croissant or scanning the human body for potential health issues, the technology at the core of this course is right at the cutting-edge of the latest innovations in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and more.
Over the course of two action-packed weeks, students will explore Python, machine learning, computer vision, and neural networks with NVIDIA's Jetson Nano as a hands-on component. This is no ordinary hardware: the Jetson Nano is a computing powerhouse, a webcam, and many other resources that drive programming to new heights.

Course Format
This course is open to teens aged 13-19. Students meet once per week for 10 weeks. Like a college course, every session will be guided by an instructor and a TA.
Each week of instruction requires a two-hour time commitment, consisting of 90 minutes of live learning and up to a half hour of self-paced skill development with videos featuring NVIDIA experts. Advanced students will have the option to complete additional portfolio enhancements.

Course Outcomes
Students will explore the tech that’s led to breakthroughs in AI, robotics, and advanced engineering fields. This rigorous learning experience will cover topics ranging from training AI to recognize objects and actions in images to writing code that can react to different visual stimuli and more! As they progress, teens will create projects that will stand out on college applications and online portfolios.
NVIDIA will review final student projects to determine certification eligibility at the culmination of the course. Students who successfully complete the coursework will receive an official certificate recognizing their programming skills and other core concepts mastered in the course.
Course Office Hours and Social Gatherings
To replicate the community aspect of a college campus, teens will have the opportunity to connect with their peers and their instructors outside of class! Students will have weekly opportunities to socialize and ask follow-up questions.
These office/social hours will take place in two Zoom breakout rooms for two hours on Thursdays. Teens can socialize, seek extra help, or do a combination of both to enhance their learning experience.
What else?
This 10-week course is the first of two courses in this certification track. A certificate is awarded for successful completion of each segment. If students choose, they can seamlessly continue to build the skills they developed in the first course!
