For those of you who haven’t heard, iD Tech has partnered with Psyonix, the brains behind Rocket League, to bring fast-paced multiplayer action to camp this summer.
What is Rocket League?
Check out this great description of the game from Rocket League’s website:
Rocket League is a futuristic Sports-Action game in which players are equipped with booster-rigged vehicles that can be crashed into balls for incredible goals or epic saves across multiple, highly-detailed arenas. Using an advanced physics system to simulate realistic interactions, Rocket League relies on mass and momentum to give players a complete sense of intuitive control in this unbelievable, high-octane re-imagining of association football (aka US soccer).
As if that awesome description wasn’t enough, check out the game in action:
What Does This Mean for iD Tech Summer Camps?
Rocket League was granted an “E for Everyone” rating from the ESRB, and will give both sports fans and non-sports fans the chance to compete in a game that’s unique and different from anything else. We believe that it will be an excellent platform for some healthy competition for campers and staffers alike. This physics-based vehicle game will be added to the existing lineup of games that will serve as fun activities for campers as they make friends this summer.
Rocket League has been selected as the primary preteen (ages 10-12) game for iD Tech Camps competitions. In addition to these structured competitions, students can also play during non-classroom time at night and during weekends, or as part of an Ultimate Gaming Weekend, where kids and teens have a blast competing alongside fellow gamers.
We are excited to have Rocket League available at camp this summer and cannot wait to hear stories of the amazing plays and epic saves that are sure to unfold.
