It was a merry and bright holiday in Roblox this year!
iD Tech is proud to have recently hosted an amazing virtual holiday party - and a truly epic snowball fight - despite the challenges of 2020.
In case you missed it, or want to relive the magic, let’s take a closer look at the game that brought the spirit of the season to thousands of Roblox players this December...
“We wanted to create a truly authentic and exciting in-game experience that can be enjoyed anywhere in the world as we continue to social distance,” said Pete Ingram-Cauchi, iD Tech’s CEO.
Now that we are on the other side of the calendar, we are delighted to say we accomplished what we set out to do.
Specifically, during a holiday season unlike any other, it was more important than ever that kids had the opportunity to enjoy festive cheer in a safe environment. From the comfort of home, party attendees enjoyed a snowy landscape, gingerbread houses, seasonal twinkly lights, hot cocoa, nightly fireworks, holiday photos with elves, gifts, and Santa himself.
(Did somebody say hot cocoa?)

Behind the scenes of the festive fun in Roblox
Thanks to our tireless and brilliant team of game designers, we built on the success of the iD Halloween Roblox event. The team’s vision, together with lessons learned from our first ever Roblox Block Party produced a magical and completely-virtual winter wonderland.
But don’t take our word for it! Here are a few stats that paint a picture of the HoliDay extravaganza:

-At a time, there were 593 concurrent players in the Roblox world. That’s a pretty amazing turn out!
-In total, the iD Tech Roblox game was played over 244,500 times! We are so thrilled to have provided so many positive holiday experiences for kids around the country.
-3,482 players favorited our Roblox game. As professional gaming enthusiasts, this means the world to us. Part of our mission is to deliver delight through technology, and we couldn’t be happier that the Block Party was a highlight of so many kids’ holidays this year.
-During a truly epic, one-of-a-kind snowball fight, 341,000 snowballs were thrown! Clearly, there’s snow place like Roblox for a unique twist on this winter staple.
-2,304 players RSVP’d for free holiday fun. Especially in light of this year’s challenges, it was of the utmost importance to us to ensure free access to the fun that all kids deserve. (There was also the option to purchase premium or VIP tickets benefiting nonprofit The Lindsey Vonn Foundation to receive even more perks; more on that below.)

They say necessity is the mother of invention, and that could not be more true to the innovative spirit behind the HoliDay Block Party in Roblox and the days leading up to it.
“We knew we had to go over the top when creating a virtual holiday world because most families will be staying home this year. With so many kids already being in remote learning for several months, we felt they more than deserved a safe space to experience all of their favorite holiday activities,” said Pete Ingram-Cauchi.
Nonprofit partner spotlight: The Lindsey Vonn Foundation
All proceeds from VIP and Premium RSVP’s raised funds for the Lindsey Vonn Foundation, an organization that provides youth scholarships and programming for education, sports, and enrichment opportunities. In total, we are proud to share that the iD HoliDay Block Party raised $5,683 for this wonderful organization.
“This donation couldn’t have come at a better time, as the holiday season is a crucial time of year to give back,” said Lindsey Vonn, the most decorated Alpine ski racer of all time, host of Amazon Prime’s The Pack, and founder of the Lindsey Vonn Foundation.
“Everyone deserves to have those precious moments we remember forever during the holiday season, and that couldn’t rein more true this year with so many families in need.”
