The Walk Again Project is planning to help one Brazilian teen, paralyzed from the waist down, deliver the first ceremonial kick of the 2014 World Cup. The non-profit is an international collaboration between the Neuroscience departments of numerous prestigious universities, including Duke, the Technical University of Munich, UC Davis, and more.
“The teen will use a mind-controlled exoskeleton,” and walk onto the soccer field in a robotic body suit prior to the kick-off. Interested in building your own robots? Learn more about our Robotics courses for kids and teens.
