In 1999, in a studio above a garage overlooking Silicon Valley, CA, our family began with a simple mission: to provide students with high-energy, hands-on technology education in a summer camp setting. Since our inception, we’ve held our youth programs at top university campuses to emphasize the importance of higher education and to increase each student’s likelihood of attending college in the near future.
Letter From the CEO
“We had no financing. But we believed in the idea of awesome technology education.”
Passion. Trust. Innovation. Fun. Inclusion. It’s our mission to spark your internalDrive.
From Summer Camp Start-up to Top Workplace
We held our inaugural programs at just 4 locations. A total of 280 students enrolled the entire summer. Today, tens of thousands of kids and teens attend each season. But we don’t measure our success by how many students attend or how many locations we’re at—we measure success by the outcome and experience each student has with us individually. We’re proud to have been voted a Top Workplace 6 years running by the Bay Area News Group.
We have dedicated our lives, passion, and focus to delivering the most innovative, STEM-based blended learning experience available to kids and teens. Today, more students enroll at iD Tech than any other tech camp on the planet. Technology is constantly evolving, and we are too. We’re a feisty, independent company comprised of innovators who refuse to accept the conventional definition of education. The same family that founded internalDrive is still at the helm today. And we’re just getting started.
Our 2016 Programs
At iD Tech, we offer summer day camps and overnight camps for kids (ages 6-12) and teens (ages 13-18). Co-ed programs include iD Tech Camps for ages 7-17, iD Tech Academies for teens ages 13-18, and iD Tech Mini for ages 6-9. We also offer Alexa Café, an all-girls summer camp program for ages 10-15. Students may register for one or several sessions.
You’ll find us at the most distinguished campuses including Stanford, UCLA, Princeton, and MIT. Each iD Tech location boasts hand-selected staff, a unique campus experience, and stimulating course curriculum delivered in small clusters of 8 students per instructor. Our summer STEM camps are loaded with brand new, real-world curriculum and professional software from Adobe, Apple, Microsoft, and other industry leaders.
A Purpose-Driven Company
This year, we’re celebrating our 18th season as a distinguished family-owned and operated company. At our summer computer camps we pay close attention to the details you care about: risk management, hand-selected staff, personalized instruction, and new friendships forged in a stimulating, collegiate setting. We blend traditional summer camp with visionary technology programs to create a unique and effective educational experience.
As you explore our site, you’ll also gain a deeper understanding of things that we believe in beyond tech: One Camper, One Tree, bridging the Digital Divide with our iD Tech Scholarship Program, giving back with community service and charity matching, and ensuring the best possible work environment for our employees.
