Prerequisite: Basic understanding of variables, syntax, loops, and conditionals in a language such as Java™, C++, or PHP. This is not a beginner course.
You’ve played the internet phenomenon Minecraft, now code in it! First, brush up on your Minecraft creation skills, then dive right into making your own mods while programming in Java™. Create your own blocks, program your own recipes, make your own custom armor set and more! Playtest your modifications with your fellow classmates and wrap up your week by publishing your mods.
Using Java™ coding, the language used to make Minecraft, and the Forge API, students will create brand new ideas and implement them into their very own worlds. Results will astound when written script transforms into a game, making Minecraft truly “yours.”
At iD, balance is very important. Our tech camps are fun and engaging, and completely unlike school. We want you to develop genuine passion for STEM subjects, and keep coming back year after year. If it’s not fun—and if you don’t learn a lot—we know you won’t return. You can expect roughly 5 hours a day of instruction, with plenty of time for supervised breaks, social time, outdoor play, optional sports, video games, and other creative techtivities. Many clients describe the total iD experience as “magical” and “unlike anything else.” We work hard to make the experience unique, memorable, and valuable.
