Double Whammy: Celebrating Earth Day & Arbor Day With 35,000 More Trees Planted

Uniting Technology and Ecology with One Camper One Tree
In light of Earth Day and Arbor Day (today), let’s work together to make the world a little greener. For every camper that attends one of our summer programs, we plant one tree via our One Camper One Tree partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. Since 2011, 75,000 trees have been planted, and another 35,000 will be planted this summer. Let’s make it to 1 million. You can help by enrolling in any iD Tech summer program—but hurry—space is filling quickly and many courses are already selling out!
Water shortages, carbon emissions, deforestation, and electricity shortages are real challenges facing our planet and our people. We NEED to create a greener, smarter planet—it’s vital to the long term well-being of all our kids. The challenges that lay ahead are BIG, but we can prepare for future careers in tech and innovation—careers that hold the solutions for making the world a better place.
We’re Green at Heart
In addition to One Camper, One Tree, we’ve implemented other green initiatives. For instance, students are encouraged to conserve energy by turning off computers and monitors when not in use. Recycling is promoted at all locations, and parents can use a carpool app to share rides to and from their students’ programs in order to save gas. Additionally, students check-in and check-out each day via an app which reduces paper consumption. By maintaining a balance between technology and ecology, we strive to be a positive model of environmental conscientiousness for students and parents.
